SOUL GASM SPEAKS MUSICAL PRODUCTION

So you want to make music?
Don't know where to start in this sea of music?
You chose the right place.

In my early career I started my first productions with my PC and a program called Fruity Loops version 8, I would then edit the waves I created in a program to make them full length, the program being Cool Edit Pro.

After having mastered both these programs, I tried various programs such as Ableton, and Logic Pro.

Ableton is a great program, however it's rather restricting and first hand using this program is quite overwhelming. Ableton is a program unlike that of Fruity Loops, where as in you have one wave and create note by note your song, where as in Ableton is one wave (sound) that is already set to a particular scale (or tune), which is creatively limiting.

My favorite program being Logic Pro made only for Mac, which in this field of Music it is a must to get an excellent computer. Logic is amazing program because it's complex, yet it's easy to use and is really an all in one program for Music Production. You can create your songs, then edit the timing, even plug in directly for example with a keyboard, guitar, or microphone.

The sound effects that come with Logic are rather endless, I've been using this program on and off for almost 2 years and still haven't used every single wave sample or yet mastered this amazing program.

My Newest album which I am currently working on is made primarily with Logic Pro.

How to Become your OWN SELF PRODUCER

I started by reaching out to those closest around me, my dad -- a self proclaimed musician who gave up the opportunity to play with CINDY LAUPER, to go to law school -- which in turn was a giant BUST, as he never become a lawyer. He gave that up too. I begged him to teach me to play guitar and he told me "Teach yourself, I'm too busy."

That was a turning point in my life.

I realized that I didn't need anyone but MYSELF to pursue my dreams. I rode it to every depth and height, which I am doing so now.

I am living my dream every day and every second today.

Why?

Because I was lucky enough to realize that you are the OUTCOME of your FUTURE, as a musician and a person.

You can choose to either go after your dream and take many risks, or let it pass by you by and take the safer route (to misery). Those people that say you wont make it, have never made it themselves and suppressed their dreams. They tell you that dreams don't come true, because their dreams fell short for them. This is the ONLY decision you have to make to decipher the outcome of your destiny.

Everyone I've ever met has told me to put music on the back burner -- that it was a career I would never reach, it was unstable, and it was unobtainable. They said to find a good job, go to school, do something with your life, be somebody -- all of which meant to ignore my dream.

For the next parts of my life I began teaching myself Guitar, Bass, and Drums. I taught myself by sound of ear --  reciting the sounds of the songs I would hear. This is an unconventional way to learn music for many. For those, there are always formal music lessons, classes, learning from YouTube instructional videos (stay tuned for mine), and a variety of other ways to learn music. As long as you have the passion and desire to learn, you'll find a way. Though lack of resources and people around me willing to teach, I taught myself how to composite my own compilations.

After mastering these instruments, I taught myself piano, then ventured into producing electronic sounds for the heart hrough FRUITY LOOPS PRO 5.0. This was my first production program I became acquainted with, later came other such as Cool Edit Pro, Ableton and many others a like.

I pushed and pushed, learning the difficult programs until I produced full-length songs that satisfied.

I choose to persist with iron fists, regardless of what people would say. I knew my purpose in this life -- music -- and if you want to succeed you won't stop.
